The original bloomers were an article of women's clothing invented by Elizabeth Smith Miller of Peterboro, New York an early pioneer of the vulcanized rubber girdle, but popularized by Amelia Bloomer in the early 1850s (hence the name, a shortening of "Bloomer suit"). They were long baggy pants narrowing to a cuff at the ankles (worn below a skirt), intended to preserve Victorian decency while being less of a hindrance to women's activities than the long full skirts of the period.

Karlie Elizabeth Kloss (born August 3, 1992) is an American model and ballet dancer.
Kloss is ranked 4th on the Top 50 Models Women List by models.com. Vogue Paris declared her one of the top 30 models of the 2000s.

Kloss was born in Chicago, Illinois, and her family moved to suburban St. Louis, Missouri in 1995. Before making it as a model, Kloss studied at Caston's Ballet Academy in 2002, a prestigious dance school in St. Louis. She soon became very talented at dance, and was in a number of performances such as the Nutcracker. Kloss has called her classical ballet training "a beautiful thing" that taught her how to move in the modeling world and was a great training ground for her runway walk.
When Kloss was 13, she was discovered at a charity fashion show in St. Louis. She was encouraged and inspired to model by one of her teachers in Webster Groves High School. In 2007, she signed with Elite Model Management.

Designer of the Week - Sonia Rykiel

Sonia Rykiel née Flis (b. 25 May 1930, Paris, France) is a French fashion designer.
Ethnically a Russian-Romanian Jew, Sonia Rykiel was born in Neuilly a commune in the western suburbs of Paris, France, the eldest of five daughters of a Russian mother and a Romanian father. At the age of 17, she was employed to dress the window displays in a Parisian textile store. In 1953 Sonia married Sam Rykiel, owner of a boutique selling elegant clothing. In 1962 she just couldn't find any soft sweaters to wear when she was pregnant. So she used a supplier to her husband from Venice to design her own.
Sonia Rykiel created her first maternity dresses and tiny sweater. The sweater is her symbol and she was crowned "Queen of Knits" by the Americans in 1967. The sweater went back 7 times for alterations before she was satisfied with it. From then, she has experimented with seams inside out, took away the hem and lining, and created a range of fragrances of which '7e Sens' was the first. This first creation was called the Poor boy Sweater, and she started selling it from her husbands label "Laura". It made the cover of ELLE fashion magazine, and brought her fame.

She later became the first designer to put seams on the outside of a garment, and to print words on her sweaters. In particular, she favours long clinging sweaters or small cropped pullovers, large rolled-back cuffs and long shawls. Her colours are usually beige, grey, dark blue and charcoal.

British actress Hayley Atwell (The Duchess) has been cast to play Captain America’s (Chris Evans) love interest Peggy Carter in Joe Johnston’s Captain America: The First Avenger. Heat Vision reports that Atwell won out after screen testing last week. Atwell was in the running along with fellow British actresses Keira Knightley, Alice Eve, and Emily Blunt (although Blunt chose to take herself out of the running). She’ll star alongside Sebastian Stan (Gossip Girl) who will play Captain’s sidekick Bucky Barnes. Hugo Weaving is still in talks to play the film’s villain, Red Skull.

In the comics, Peggy Carter dated Captain America (real name Steve Rogers) during World War II and also worked as an agent helping the French Resistance. After the war, Captain America was frozen in a state of suspended animation. He awoke in the modern day and eventually dated Peggy’s niece, Sharon (ewwww). Sharon Carter is an agent of SHIELD in the comics so it’s possible Captain America is helping to set up that character relationship for The Avengers.

"I had a night mare last night...so scary :( wanted to run into my parents room like when I was little," she Friday on Twitter, ater, "I say I had a bad dream. And u guys just know what about...w out me saying. Its been a crazy week I can't wait for this all to be over :( "
This from the woman who back in February was calling the Kardashian comparisons flattering -- and who's rumored to be dating Kardashian ex Reggie Bush.
Kardashian filed a lawsuit Wednesday against Old Navy and its parent company, Gap, alleging illegal use of her public image in the campaign starring Molinaro. She was not named as a defendant, incidentally, but had expressed her disbelief to a friend via Twitter.
"Were still talking about this?!," she wrote. "Its JULY this aired in February...some people have too much time on there hands.".
Kardashian, meanwhile, is "a businesswoman who has to protect her brand" rather than allowing another company to use it to sell clothes, an insider told Us Magazine. "Bottom line."
The silver lining for Molinaro? Her "Dance Floor" music video on YouTube had more than 400,000 views by Friday. Check it out

Well, this is fun: Kim Kardashian is apparently unhappy seeing “Kim Kardashian” affiliated with a national brand. Of course, the fact that she has no deal with the brand, Old Navy, is a big part of the problem — and presumably why she filed a lawsuit on Wednesday.

Kardashian is suing the low-priced clothing chain, alleging that it deliberately infringed upon her public persona when it hired near-lookalike actress-dancer Melissa Molinaro for a new ad campaign that launched early this year. The campaign was “purposefully designed and intended to confuse, to cause mistake, and to deceive the public” into believing the reality TV diva was appearing in the commercials,” the lawsuit alleges.
Molinaro’s similarity to Kardashian did put the campaign in the spotlight when the ads launched.
One February headline on a story about the “So C.U.T.E” commercial posed this question: “Were You Fooled by Old Navy’s Kim Kardashian Lookalike?”
At the time, Molinaro called the comparison “extremely flattering. She is a beautiful woman …. That’s an amazing compliment.” She also told E! Online that her casting call had not been for a Kardashian lookalike but rather “for a true dance pop superstar.”
“It’s just crazy to me because I think I look like Melissa Molinaro,” Not-Kim said. “I’ve been in the business for a long time and … thank God I booked this commercial because I’ve gotten so much airtime.”
And that’s kind of the point, according to what Kardashian attorney Gary Hecker said in a statement. “Kim Kardashian is immediately recognizable, and is known for her look and style. Her identity and persona are valuable. When her intellectual property rights are violated, she intends to enforce them.”
It’s hardly the first time a Kardashian has had to police the moneymaking family name. When the Connecticut attorney general’s office harshly criticized the fees on a prepaid “Kardashian Kard” MasterCard, the card deal was promptly cut up.
Though no dollar amount was attached to the Old Navy suit, sources told TMZ that Team Kardashian estimates the damage at $15 million to $20 million.

Here is my creation-

I have used a 10x8" shadow box frame from Bunnings along with the Ornament Punch and Delightful Decorations Stamp set to creat my Christmas tree, along with some buttons and bling. I first saw one of these at my upline Michelle Paully's house last year and wanted to recreate it to match my beautiful black and silver tree. Michelle found the original idea on a UK demo's blog
Jenny Moors. I think it would look great in any colours and may even make a few myself. They are very quick and simple to make, the hardest part was painting the frame.

Originally from Framingham, Massachusetts, the Evans family moved to suburban Sudbury when he was 11 years-old. While at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School, his obvious talent led others to lavish praise and encouragement on him, particularly his drama teacher, who cited his performance as "Leontes" in "The Winter's Tale" as exemplary of his skill.

After more school plays and regional theater, he moved to New York and attended the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute. On the advice of friends, he landed an internship at a casting office and befriended a couple of the agents he regularly communicated with - one of whom later took him on as a client. The screen - not the stage - then became his focus; Evans soon began auditioning for feature films and series television.

Evans made one of his first appearances on "The Fugitive" (2000) (CBS, 2000-2001), a remake of the 1960s series and feature film starring Harrison Ford. In the episode "Guilt", Evans played the son of a small-town sheriff who tries to exact revenge after Dr. Kimble - incognito as a liquor store owner - refuses to sell him and his friends alcohol. After small roles in Cherry Falls (2000) and The Newcomers (2000) - two unknown low-budget features - Evans appeared in "Boston Public" (2000) (Fox, 2000-2004) as a murder suspect. He then appeared in his first major feature, Not Another Teen Movie (2001), a tiresome spoof on teen comedies wherein he played a jock who makes a bet that he can turn an unpopular and unkempt girl (Chyler Leigh) into prom queen.

After filming a couple of television pilots he was confident would be successful - Just Married (2003) and Eastwick (2002) (TV) - he appeared in another listless teen comedy, The Perfect Score (2004), playing an average, ho-hum student who takes part in a plot to steal the SAT test. Hijinks naturally ensue. Then, Evans broke through to the Big Time, grabbing the lead in the kidnapping thriller, Cellular (2004), a suspenseful B movie with a cheesy gimmick - a random wrong number on his cell phone forces him into a high-stakes race to save an unknown woman's life. Despite an unassuming performance from Evans and Kim Basinger as the damsel in distress, Cellular (2004) failed to break any box office records or please a wide majority of critics. Evans then prepared himself for super stardom when he signed on to play "Johnny Storm" (a.k.a. The Human Torch)in Fantastic Four (2005), 20th Century Fox's long-awaited adaptation of the Marvel comic. Although the film was wildly uneven and disappointing, Evans nearly stole the show with his energetic, unfettered performance.

Hayley Atwell Confirmed as Peggy Carter in Marvel Studios’
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER

Marvel Studios announced today that Hayley Atwell has been cast to star as Peggy Carter in the studio’s highly anticipated movie CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER opposite Chris Evans. In the early comics, Peggy Carter fell in love with Captain America while they fought together in the war effort. The character will be updated for the feature adaptation. Joe Johnston will direct the film penned by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely.
Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige will produce CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER. Alan Fine, Stan Lee, David Maisel and Louis D’Esposito will executive produce. The film will be released in the US on July 22, 2011 and distributed by Paramount Pictures.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America.
Atwell will next be seen in PILLARS OF THE EARTH, the 8-part miniseries premiering July 23 on Starz and the TV series THE PRISONER. Her film credits include THE DUCHESS, BRIDESHEAD REVISITED and CASSANDRA’S DREAM.
In addition to CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including the highly anticipated sequel, IRON MAN 2, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Gwyneth Paltrow on May 7, 2010, THOR on May 6, 2011, and Marvel Studios’ THE AVENGERS on May 4, 2012.
